September 6, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Harrisburg, PA (September 5, 2017) – TEDxHarrisburg organizers selected INTAG CEO Bob Welsh to present at this year’s TEDx event on October 15 at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center. Welsh and the other 11 presenters will address the event’s 2017 theme: Evolve. A community developer turned successful entrepreneur, Welsh has a unique perspective on evolution.

“I’m humbled to share my experience,” said Welsh. “My self education and career path have been all about evolution and INTAG is leading me on yet another incredible journey. I’m happy to help spark conversation.” Welsh’s TEDx Talk will focus on his counterintuitive evolution from a lifetime leader of nonprofits to his distinctly different role as chief executive officer of a rising commercial aquaponics company.

Welsh built the nationally recognized Jump Street Inc. and is the creative force behind award winning innovative education models and public-private partnerships, both nationally and internationally. Bob has lead community and economic development programs and organizations for twenty years and has overseen the inception and growth of more than seven private sector businesses and six non-profit organizations through his work in business incubators and economic development funds.

Welsh’s current venture, Integrated Agriculture Systems (INTAG), provides commercial solutions for food production, wastewater remediation, and STEM/STEAM education. INTAG aquaponics systems are used by commercial food producers, small batch growers, restaurants, farmers, and others, and more than 40 schools in Pennsylvania and Maryland to teach STEM/STEAM education and 21st century workforce development.
